Speak Up Jax - Youth Poetry Slam 2026

  • Jacksonville Public Library - Main Branch 303 North Laura Street Jacksonville, FL, 32202 United States (map)

Speak Up Jax Youth Slam is a youth poetry slam celebrating the voices, stories, and creativity of young poets ages 13–18. Presented by Hope at Hand Inc. in partnership with Aniah Heaven Poetry and the Jacksonville Public Library, this uplifting community event invites youth to take the stage, share their original work, and experience the power of creative expression in a supportive, empowering environment.

As part of Hope at Hand’s Jax Poetry Fest 2026 and National Poetry Month, Speak Up Jax centers youth voices, artistic confidence, and community connection, reminding young writers that their stories matter and their voices deserve to be heard. The slam will take place April 25, 2026, from 2–5 PM, featuring 15 competing poets, three competitive rounds, and an inspiring showcase of local youth talent.

Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please allow 1–2 business days to process. Last-minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill. Please ask for Learning Services at 255-2665 or email JPLprograms@coj.net.
